Fresh from their sellout London Astoria show, Rock Sound’s ‘brightest hopes for 2002’ release another slice of their melodic power-pop. Taken from the album, ‘Bleed American', this early 80’s Duran-Duran/Blondie hybrid give us two minutes of uplifting yet unoriginal MOR. Couple that with vocals mildly reminiscent of an Americanized Tim Wheeler, and they have a likeable, albeit unremarkable tune.

Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

With this single, they have become one of only three "new" American bands to raise my interest... alongside Billy Corgan's Zwan and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

I can't believe you thought it was that bad, Saj... it's catchy, the lyrics are positive (how often can you say *that* about a Yank band these days?) and they actually know how to solo! I haven't heard a proper solo in ages!

go buy 'Clarity' its the one just before 'Bleed American'. wicked album. both of them are....and the older stuff!

Saw them in concert with Seafood. they're brilliant live! And I'm downloading everything I can. Salt Sweat Sugar is gorgeous.

yeah they had re-name it coz of sept 11th
go get 'Clarity' the album before the latest one. all their albums are great but thats my fav one

Jimmy Eat World, one good song, terrible album, and the current pants party video, note how JEW are the only ones wearing clothes? yeah.

Salt Sweat Sugar my ass, it's called Bleed American, and always will be. MP3 it so you don't have to endure the rest of the stuff they're done.

No, JEW aren't wearing clothes, but they're allegedly baring their "emotions" instead. How, uh, deep or something. "The Middle" could have had a far more intelligent video, but is instead tit-shot after ass-shot ad nauseum. (Note how the toned and trim the Emo-kids at the end are, too.)

And of course, Andrew WK is the new Milli Vanilli.
