It’s two worlds, colliding: the natural and supernatural battling it out over 13 tracks of the most insanely camp metal ever. It’s Lord Of The Rings coming to your town and butt-plugging Slayer into the mains. It’s funnier than watching Pig Destroyer cover Britney Spears (please, Lord, make it happen).

But then, you already knew all that.

Three Inches Of Blood aren’t big or clever. Nor, it should be said, are their songs. Nor, it should be doubly stressed, is rehashing ‘Destroy The Orcs’ for this Roadrunner debut when it was on the band’s debut proper, Battlecry Under A Winter Sun. Then again, it does sound fucking fantastic when it slashes its way into your headphones come track 11.

Oh, do the math: Iron Maiden Judas Priest Orcs Goblins Ghouls Pirates Fighting Fantasy Tight Leather Pants Battleaxes Castles Witches Warlocks METAL.

I mean, just look at that cover. Says it all...

Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

Thats possibly the worst album cover I've ever seen. Or the greatest. Whatever, the result is the same;

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH METAL \m/

Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

At least the last cover was mildly serious...that's just 80s cheese. I still have no idea wha this band sound like, although I get the feeling I wouldn't like them. But hey ho...

Re: Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

from that review they sound like manowar
all greased up and wearing loincloths

Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

the thing is, this is pretty much what the Darkness would sound lke if they grew up listening to Maiden rather than Van Halen and Kiss

Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

I whizzed thru the album on a listening post and it seemed a bit samey but I would definitely see them live and "Deadly Sinners" is a cracking track. mp3 is on roadrunner records wesbite.

Three Inches of Blood - Advance And Vanquish

Agreed with frood - listened to a few choice tunes and it's interesting enough to go further. Pirates and metal...yass.
