The Madeleines
At Upstairs at the Garage, Islington
About the venue
Upstairs at the Garage
Very small but cosy london venue which sits literally upstairs above the main Garage in Higbury. It looks like someone's attic with the walls painted black, a teeny stage and a bar installed. They have quite good club nights certain Fridays and Saturdays of the month.»
About the artists
Action Plan
Action Plan were bored. Really bored. Then they heard the screams of Trail Of Dead and the rants of Interpol and soon they weren’t bored anymore. They weren’t bored especially when they were playing in front of two people or two hundred people, whoever, whenever, with sweat dripping like blood from every pore, playing every song like they’d never enjoy the use of their hands again. Formed in late 2003, Action Plan played and played until nerves were replaced by electricity, until good songs were replaced by better ones, until either them or their instruments left the stage with a scar. Or, in the case of their guitars, half a head. Aged between 21-24, they’ve played relentlessly in the second half of 2004, with members of Razorlight and Jet coming along to shows to see them, and continue to do so in 2005.
