Mclusky

Mclusky are great.

Funny, rude, giving less of fuck than, like, any band ever; hail from Cardiff, visceral, loud, squealing guitars, ample screaming, bucket-loads of excellently unnecessary swearing and with lyrics like "i'm fearful i'm fearful i'm fearful of flying and flying is fearful of me", and "my love is bigger than your love, (he means cock...) we take more drugs than a touring funk band," how could anyone who knows anything about anything fail to love them? Eh? Exactly.

In jokes galore yes, lefty haters yes, inevitable comparisons to Pixies and Nirvana due to dry wit, ferocious delivery and bombastic sound and noise levels yes, but fuck it. A brilliant band that sound a bit like other bands is much better than some wacky toss that just sounds bad: Mystery Jets for example...

They have split up mind, so splinter project Shooting At Unarmed Men is the closest you can get to a live show, but 'Mclusky Do Dallas', 'Mypainandsadnessismorepainfulandmoresadthanyours' and the recent double CD Best Of 'Mcluskyism' couldn't fail to improve a record collection.
