Biffy Clyro
- Simon Neil - vocals, guitar
- Ben Johnston - vocals, drums
- James Johnston - bass, vocals
Signed to Beggars Banquet, Biffy Clyro are an aggressive popcore outfit from Glasgow, or thereabouts. They released their first single for Beggars, entitled '27', on the 9th of April 2001, following their first nationwide tour with label-mates Llama Farmers, claiming "single of the week" in Kerrang! The band have since toured with Sunna and appeared at the T In The Park and Carling Weekend festivals.
The band, comprised of frontman Simon Neil and brothers James Johnston and Ben Johnston, count Nirvana and Soundgarden amongst their early influences, but their sound also takes its cues from such bands as Far and Tool.
The band released their debut single, 'Iname', on Aereogramme's label, BabiYaga, and released their 4 track EP, 'Thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow' in 2001 on Electric Honey Records (the label that launched Belle & Sebastian's Tiger Milk album). Their debut LP Blackened Sky emerged in 2002, with The Vertigo Of Bliss succeeding it the following year.
They made it three with 2004's Infinity Land, before making us wait for two and a half years for the fourth album, Puzzle, to hit in spring 2007.
