Airport Girl
Airport Girl are an eight-peice from Nottingham featuring trumpet and violin. The trumpet player is Rob 'Spanish' Fleay who featured on White Town's no 1 hit single 'Your Woman'. Their influences range from C86 pop like The Pastels to the American lo-fi of Pavement, with a bit of The Go-Betweens and a little Jonathan Richman too. The band will be touring the UK with The Butterflies of Love in April to promote the single 'Power Yr Trip'. A full radio and press campaign will also be run by Overground Promotions and Razzle PR respectively. Airport Girl have played with Spearmint, Quickspace, Rosita, Marine Research, Formula One, Comet Gain, Milky Wimpshake.. to name but a few. The B-side of their last single 'Song for David Jones' was used by the BBC's Match of the Day to soundtrack the week's goal action.
