Cute Is What We Aim For

Signed to label: Fueled By Ramen

You probably think after Fall Out Boy, things couldn't get any worse for the once revered genre of 'emo'.

Wrong!

The clothing-sponsored, stupid-haired, pussy-voiced Cute Is What We Aim For are just as bad. Formed in 2005 after for some reason not being maimed, things started badly after the members' departure from their other bands was far from amicable. Toys were thrown and dummies spat.

Things didn't get any better, and we're not even referring to the music. CIWWAF fired their manager after he accused them of "unethical business practices". He wasn't talking about selling shitty power-pop emo to unsuspecting children though, he was talking about being unfair to a promoter.

Debut album The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch was released in the UK in September 2006, and certain members of DiS staff find it unlistenable. Somehow, in the US, it became Fueled By Ramen's biggest-selling album in its opening ten weeks, meaning it beat the likes of Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco. How, we cannot fathom.

Can I stop talking about these gobshites now? Yes? Good.

Shaant Hacikyan – vocals
Jeff Czum – guitar/piano
Fred Cimato – bass
Tom Falcone – drums
