Venom
Formed waaaay back in 1979, Venom is a black metal/thrash metal band from Newcastle, influenced by Judas Priest and KISS amongst others. Laying the foundations for the death metal, thrash and black metal bands that they were to influence in the future (you know.. bands like Mayhem, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax), they released their first album Welcome To Hell in 1981 are still together to some extent to this day. Metal Black, their latest effort, was released in 2006.
