Norwich-based Cortez have set their local music scene alight in just six short months. Their unique blend of intense, crunching guitars, catchy noise-pop melodies and pondering alt-country vocals has already earned the band a strong fan base and press interest.

The band formed in October 2003 with a simple goal: to create bitter-sweet pop songs which challenge them as a band and surprise their audiences. Cortez have already earned comparisons to the likes of Pavement, Tindersticks and Lambchop, a true testament to their eclectic influences.
