As part of the first wave of Riot Grrrl rockers coming out of Olympia, Washington, Bratmobile released the albums Pottymouth (1993) and The Real Janelle (1994) before going their separate ways. The girls appeared in a number of other acts, including Cold Cold Hearts, Deep Lust and The Peechees, before deciding to reform at the tail end of the '90s.
