From early touring with the likes of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pearl Jam to the release of their first album Gish a gradual phenomenon developed towards a rock rollercoaster which came in '95 with the release of the double album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness. This brought the delights of 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings', 'Tonight Tonight' and '1979' to name but a few. Including their follow up Adore and MACHINA/the machines of God, The Smashing Pumpkins released eight albums collectively in their twelve years together.
