You know how hard to please we DiS folk are? Consider this: Winnebago Deal's two albums Dead Gone (2004) and Flight of the Raven (2006) have both received perfect 10s. With such a flawless record, they're a big deal. You can insert your own pun there.
The Deal started off life as a quartet in school, but were quickly whittled down to drummer Ben Thomas and guitarist/singer Ben Perrier. Their hard rock riffage soon attracted the attention of Fierce Panda, eventually leading to the release of the Plata O Plomo EP in 2003. From this EP, Fierce Panda released debut single 'Manhunt', an instant hit with the alternative music scene.
From here followed the Deal's well-received long-players, although their adventures go far beyond that. Their debut album Dead Gone caught the eye of Nick Oliveri (Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss), who invited them to support his band Mondo Generator on tour, and eventually become part of the Generator, touring the US and Europe including a support slot with Motorhead. Despite not currently being part of Mondo Generator, the Winnebago two recently went with Oliveri and friends to Dave Grohl's LA studio to record an album under the name Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator, due for release late 2006.
Oh, and ALL HAIL THE MOTHERFUCKING DEAL! *horns*
