Anglo-Irish four-piece with a fierce DIY approach, founders of the Smalltown America label.
Formed from the ashes of Geffen-signed Cuckoo, who split in the late 1990s, Jetplane Landing are a DIY collective. Self-signed, mostly self-promoted and self-funded, they released their debut album Zero For Conduct in 2001, followed by the more American rock-sounding Once Like A Spark in 2003, an outspoken political record which came from a time when the war on terror had reached fever pitch.
After touring hard for what seemed like forever and playing nearly every UK town known to man as well as touring as support to Hundred Reasons and Biffy Clyro, they all but disappeared to take stock and change direction for third album Backlash Cop, which was a mix of punk and funk. It was eventually released in mid-2007.
