Despite Internet gossip to the contrary, Muse confirmed earlier this afternoon on their website that they will be going ahead with festival performances as planned despite the tragic death of drummer Dom Howard's father.Their next set of dates is this weekend: St Gallen, Switzerland (Jul 2nd), Werchter Festival, Belgium (3rd - sold out), Roskilde, Denmark (4th - also sold out).
Meanwhile, The Darkness fill Bowie's vacated slot (quiet, you) by moving up to the headline position on the main-stage at T In The Park.

All the best to them. Don't know if I could do it under those circumstances. I remember seeing U2 the day Bono's Dad died. Guess some people are a lot braver than me...

Good luck to em and thank the Lord...the main stage at T is abysmal on Saturday. AND it's going to rain.
Still, perspective perspective perspective etc

Re: Muse quash Internet rumours
Perspective indeed. When they played at Glastonbury on Sunday, the mud was the worst it had been (although the rain had stopped) and it was still great. The last time I saw them at a festival (Reading a couple of years back) it poured down for their set... and rain somehow seems to suit their music. That's a compliment, by the way.

Yeah I saw them at Glasto too...went in without many expectations but that guy is a virtuoso when he gets going. Could use fewer solos BETWEEN the songs though.

T in the park is simply awful this year Tv on the Radio and The Stills have apparently pulled out, but the TITP organisers didnt mention that.
Re: Muse quash Internet rumours
yeah, but Josephine are playing!! oh yeah, and Franz Ferdinand, Muse and Snow Patrol. has to be said though, any festival willing to put on The Complete Stone Roses is struggling for ideas..
Re: Muse quash Internet rumours
The Stills and TV On The Radio were never due to play.
