Punk Really is Dead

Joey Ramone, lead singer of legendary punk band the Ramones, passed away Sunday at the age of 49.

The towering frontman, born Jeffrey Hyman, did not respond to treatment for lymphatic cancer, a disease that attacks the body's ability to fight infection. U2's "In a Little While" was playing in his room at New York-Presbyterian Hospital when he died at 2:40 p.m.

Without wishing to sound corny, Joey Ramone was one of the coolest guys on the planet. If you're a Ramones fan, you'll already be in mourning. If you're not, listen to some of their records and you soon will be in mourning.

Wasn't this event already reported way back on Monday by somebody else? Just a thought.....

On the subject of Joey, though, I'm at a loss as to how to respond - he's just one of those people you don't think would ever die. I played all my Ramones records in mourning on Tuesday when I found out, and there is even less doubt in my mind that the Ramones were one of the greatest bands ever.

Yeah, it has been done... by me. I wish people would look at what is already up, like I just have for the Skunk Anansie I am about to put up...

sorry if it was already there -
I was just overcome with overbearing emotion and things of that nature...

Listened to Lammacq tonight and he didn't mention Joey's passing once (that I heard) .. so sad.
