Bowling for Soup: Punk Rock 101
If Bowling For Soup had half a brain cell between them, they’d probably be post-post-ironic. Sadly, they’re fucking idiots and this horrific attempt to slate ‘fake’ punk bands is woefully clumsy and at least two years too late.
For a band with only one previous hit single - which not only ripped off Blink 182 stylistically, but also light-fingered their video concept – isn’t it a bit rich slagging off anyone else, when they’re ‘Punk Rock 101’’s prime offenders?
Of course, there’s a remote possibility that the band are parodying themselves, but the overriding sense here is that of blind self-belief and smug superiority. The fact is, Bowling For Soup clearly realise that mocking other bands is their one selling point, yet they’ve already used that idea up on ‘Girl All The Bad Guys Want’.
Guys, everyone knows punk-pop is shit. That’s why no one buys it anymore. Just like no one’s gonna buy your new album. Fucktards.

I think we share some of the same tastes, but I'm not with you on this one I'm afraid. Can't quite explain why, but some bands who do this stuff bore me stiff (Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory) and some make me happy (Blink 182, this lot). I just think BFS have better tunes than most of the people peddling this schtik. (...is that how you spell that word?)

I THINK BOWLING FOR SOUP ARE FUNNY AND COOL. SOME BANDS TRY TOO HARD TO BE FUNNY YOU-NO. LIKE HA HA HA I CAN SAY SHIT IN A SONG. LETS ALL LAF OUR ASSES OFF.....NOT.
IS IT JUST ME OR DO U THINK SUM BANDS THINK THEY'RE GREAT COS THEY READ A GROWN UP COMMIC AND FOUND BIG WORDS THAT WOULD MAKE MOMMY CROSS???

This poor guys topic... Aww let's all feel sorry for the guy with no taste in music. I think that Bowling For Soup are a great band. I can't think of one song of them I don't like. And Girl all the Bad Guys Want is awesome ^_^ But yeah, not all Pop Punk is great. all the other ones tend to bore me as well = NFG etc. -

everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I happen to think that the song is alright...buy I myself find that I listen to lots of different kinds of music so I am not picky, but it's not that it's a horrible song and I know that Bowling For Soup knows that they aren't "punk" and there is absolutely nothing wrong with being pop punk and in case you haven't noticed....ppl are still buying pop punk and now more then ever especially since it's the new fad...all I am getting at is that the song isn't all that bad and sure you can think what you want about them and say it too but don't go all mental on them
