Wildhearts: New Album!
As your article said 'Discuss: What do you think?', I'll do just that...
This band are the absolute dons. If anyone reading this has bought, say, a Linkin Park album recently, buy this one when it comes out... and then wonder what you were thinking of all this time. Why listen to a bunch of moaning gits banging on endlessly about their pain and existential angst, when you could hear rock and roll done the way it was supposed to be! Loud guitars and, you know, tunes!
This isn't a very articulate rant, but then it doesn't need to be. The Wildhearts are all about putting a massive grin on your face and making you want to jump and down and shout a lot. It's not clever, but it is very big.
Still not sold? OK. Justin Hawkins from The Darkness has contributed some vocals to the album. LOOK, JUST BUY THE DAMNED THING WHEN IT COMES OUT, OK?
Cheers,
Damian.
PS. Get started on their back catalogue too. -

Damian speaks the troof. -
Re: Wildhearts: New Album!
I was up for it 'til you mentioned the Darkness.
Seriously, though, the Wildhearts are the best band ever. I have about 15 quid in my bank account, and that's going towards this album.
No "Stormy..." though?

Damian knows too much.
PS. Darling have been booked for a DiS gig next month. -
Re: Wildhearts: New Album!
Yeah, I noticed that, and out of the three singles released so far, "Stormy.." is arguably the best. Oh well. I'm sure I read something about a DVD this year as well but, er, stuff.
And yes kids, the Wildhearts are ace and yet are criminally overlooked by MTV and every bloody radio station. Scum.

Wildhearts: live
They are always great live, but theyr starting to sound like bon jovi in the studio.
I found that japanese only release cd to be aweful. It didnt do much for me. -
Re: Wildhearts: live
Ginger wanted to do some straightahead pop songs for a change, rather than having too much of the 'tempo changing every five seconds' business. People who thought the same as you preferred the B-sides to 'Stormy In The North' which is closer to 'old' Wildhearts...
From what I gather, the new album probably won't do much for you if you didn't like the 'Riff After Riff' record.
I can see why not everyone would like what they're doing at the minute (personally I love it), but comparing them to Bon Jovi isn't entirely fair in my opinion!
Cheers,
Damian.
