Travis Keller, sharp-tongued founder of punka-apocalyptic multimedia project/label Buddyhead, has been hard at it in assembling a compilation album entitled ‘Buddyhead Presents: Gimme Skelter.’

The CD, which has yet to declare a definite release date, features 16 exclusive or rare tracks from various rock bands such as Mudhoney, Le Tigre, Primal Scream, The Icarus Line, Wire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Burning Brides, Weezer, among others.

Buddyhead, reporting from their controversy-rousing website, declared:

‘Take our word for it, this record is gonna turn some heads. It’s gonna make it so hot in here you’re gonna wanna take off all your clothes and jump around like an idiot. No release date has been set cuz we’re lazy, but we'll let you know as soon as we figure that shit out.’

It appears that the Buddyhead collective has snared some bonafide punk-rock legends to contribute to the CD.

‘The man, the myth, the legend himself, and “the godfather of punk rock”... Iggy Pop is the host and shows up a few times throughout the album to drop some knowledge on your weak minds!’

Also, Raymond Pettibon, the force behind Black Flag’s seminal artwork, makes an appearance with a cover design drawing of Charles Manson for the album.
