The Kinks Tribute Album

Fountains Of Wayne, Lambchop, Yo La Tengo, Queens of the Stoneage appear
on 'This Is Where I Belong: The Songs of Ray Davies and the Kinks'.
The album, which is due to be released in the US on Praxis Recordings on the 24th July, includes the following:

Lambchop - Art Lover

Tim O'Brien - Muswell Hillbilly
Bill Lloyd & Tommy Womack - Picture Book
Yo La Tengo - Fancy

For one of the best British bands of the 60's, what an awful choice of bands to do their tribute. The track listing misses most of their best songs too....

Where the fuck are Sunny Afternoon, Dead End Street and Waterloo Sunset!??!!
Oh well.. spose we should be grateful that they didn't include that godawful slaughtering of Sunny Afternoon by the Stereophonics...

my band was going to do a nasty version of dead end street.
and isnt the queens of the stone age strack everybody's gonna be happy. i didnt know who'll be the next in line was a kinks song
