PGMG get Vital with new album
Posted: 05 Jan '06, 13:43
DiS's favourite Seattle pop-punks (we mean that in a nice way) Pretty Girls Make Graves return to album-releasing ways this April with Elan Vital.
The album is to be released through Matador, who also put out The New Romance and the reissue of the band's debut, Good Health. The label is selling it as the band's "most ambitious, multifarious and scorching" album to date.
We. Are. Excited.
Track titles thus far include 'The Number' and 'Parade'. Should you care to know such things.
Hooray
awesome band. That photo had better not be the cover though.
HOORAAAAAAAAY
bout time too.
that's not the cover, i have that poster on my wall, it's old.
PGMG Guitarist
Does anybody know if Nathan Thelen recorded with them? I heard when he left he wouldn't tour anymore, but thought he might record?
.
<3 pgmg
this band really only have their
name going for them and its not even their idea!
YAAAAAAAAAWN
Quiet, you.
PGMG RAWK.
I like them but...
They sound like Geri Halliwell singing with Sparta. And arent that good live.
..
Sparta?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Hey
If Morrissey's allowed to steal it why can't they?
Double standards!
damn
i have no money. but i have to get this!!!
Whit?
Sparta no good. PGMG very very good. Yes.
To reach any comparison between The Bulimic Wench Halliwellâ„¢ and them is BAD.
ok ok...
Maybe Sparta was the wrong band to choose but "a slightly less frenetic and interesting At The Drive In" didnt have the same ring to it. Its true though - the Geri Halliwell thing. I realised in my friends car the other day that The New Pornographers sound a bit like The Corrs. Doesnt necessarily have to ruin your enjoyment of a decent band.
PGMG are frustrating because, despite being arranged badly, the basic ideas that make up a lot of their songs are brilliant. They don't have the best production for what they are doing though, and live they aren't anywhere near as good as they should be. From what I heard of the new songs live last year too - this album is gonna be cack.
I hope they surprise me.
so excited
we're interviewing them soon to find out more about the new record too!
oh yeah
churn the butter!
This is mighty good news!
I was listening to them last week and thinking they were due for a new album.
I interviewed them circa The New Romance
And they were LOVELY.
Ask Andrea if she'll cut your hair. She's good.
i
like
them
!
Sparta are great, Pretty Girls Make Graves are great, this should be a good album...
!
Also, I need a hair cut...and shave...maybe I'll wait til they tour to get it done, nice back and sides...she can ask me where I went for my holidays...and now, apparently, who I'm voting for and what changed in the political climate I want(!?)
