logging in

hmm i'm having to log in every time i visit the site. anyone got this problem? i didnt have to with the old site and its not as if i've changed my cookie settings or anything.

  • er yep

yeah it keeps happening. im so confused/hating the new site (sorry for being a bit of a downer)

    • im converted!

but wait, posts are so quick!im in love with the new site!

      • It just takes

a bit of getting used to. I'm loving the new site, and its only gonna get better when its been tweaked and all the shexy new features are working.

        YAY!

  • same here..

    but you know what?
i am already beginning to forget what the old site was like, all the little things that have changed, and i cant quite work out how..

    • i haven't forgotten...

...but new site sure is cool.

But logging each time sucks !

      • I'm loving it

The new site looks ace. Especially the forums, they seem much easier and quicker to use (barring the multiple posting which I'm sure is just teething trouble)

        • multi-posting

Just some server issues today. Part of the reason we're doing this on a Sunday is because most of the people on will be the hardcore who won't mind feeding back to us, rather than just slagging it off.

          • Waahoo!

            Up the hardcore!

  • works fine for me..

i'm still trying to figure out how to get to my profile.
has it even been made accessible yet?

    • Click on your name below your post

you can't edit your profile yet though...that'll be functional soon.

  • cookies

It's a cookie issue. If you look in the bar, it's new.drownedinsound.com but the cookies are set to work on www.drownedinsound.com so we'll be waiting 'til we've finished the swapover to the new server completely.

  • Session lifetime

Yeah, i've not even looked at the session lifetime settings in Rails yet.

I'll probably tweak it to make the sessions last longer, although I don't think I can make it quite as long as the old site

I like it when the name comes first so I don't have to look down then up down then up down then up.... you get the idea...

      • Not entirely convinced...

... by the new site yet. It's so pale that I can barely read it. And the logging in is a pain. Hopefully these are just teething problems.
