If I told people in the real world that I got out of bed at 3am to burn myself a copy of In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, so that I could listen to it upstairs on my stereo (through headphones as not to wake my housemate) whilst I tried to sleep, they might think I was odd. I'd say that the joke was probably on them.
