I know it's a bit early, but anyone know something about music festivals planed in Germany in the next summer?
Deal is that I'm going to Germany next year (I will be located in somewhere between Hanover and Bremen) to visit some people n'stuff, and it would be nice to visit some music festie too.
However, I don't know nothing about music festivals in Germany, my taste is fully eclectic (however, more indie,folk,world,experimental than rock based).
Hurricane Festival
its located in a town called "Scheessell" just east of Bremen. you can get to it easily by train from Bremen.
Also Southside....
in South Germany (Tuttlingen), can either fly into Basel, Stuttgart and Munich isn't too far away either, think Southside is twinned with Hurricane. I went in 2007 and the line-up was awesome (Interpol.Sonic Youth. Arcade Fire and lots more). Great value tickets around £75 for a weekend with camping.

had good bands when i went in 2003, worse crowd i've ever seen, though. pissed-up dickheads.
the bands: radiohead, massive attack, bjork, sigur ros, underworld, royksopp, the roots, interpol, grandaddy.
i went to Hurricane 2004
when it had an actual hurricane !
the bands were: David Bowie (last live performance at the moment ! playing his own tunes, the one he had a heart attack afterwards) Mogwai, Pixies, Modest Mouse, PJ Harvey, The Cure....
