Good idea
Spread the cost for those that are def going.
Looks like a crock of shit to me
If you register, and then decide not to get a ticket, you still get charged £10. I understand that may be designed to deter people registering for the sake of it, but what the fuck?
It's obviously so they attempt to sell tickets more quickly next year, but they're just making the whole process so convoluted now
i know
Getting a ticket to this festival is going to need it's own instruction manual soon.
It is getting pretty stupid now
Although I agree with anti touting, maybe they should just sell them as any normal gig/festival/event does- buying last minute off ebay can be a great spur of the moment thing anyway...
Love this quote:
"change in ticket sales policy is being made in order to combat what he says was confusion regarding sales for this year's bash."
Eavis, there was no confusion in buying tickets this year. Although mildy convoluted it was a fairly straight-forward process. The only confusion over tickets will have been from all at Worthy Farm at them not selling very well. Nice one!
Seems reasonable to me
£50 down will ease their cash flow and lower interest payments on loans, which should help keep the cost down.
If you're not sure you want to go you'll just have to take your chances when they go on general sale.
Costs down for who ?
The punter or Glastonbury ?
I bet the ticket price goes up this year.
I'd rather more efforts were made in banning flags and deckchairs.
"I bet the ticket price goes up this year."
Tickets to the festival cost £160 (including administration fee) this year, a figure which is set to rise for next year's bash. The price hike will be made after 2008's bash struggled to provide a good turnover.
"We couldn't cover the costs at that price," Eavis said. "It wasn't a loss but it wasn't as good as it should've been."
</copy&paste>
did anyone take me up on the bet ?
.
Nope
They've already said ticket prices will rise this year. Just that taking a deposit should help limit that rise.
What's wrong with Flags and Deck-chairs?
Its all about Festivals in other countries from now on. Montenegro here we come!
