Best Club Night in London?

The last few club nights I've been to haven't exactly filled me with joy. I'm thinking of going to Stay Beautiful, but it's at the Purple Turtle which isn't the best venue. Or maybe Electric Dreams. I'm interested in 80's, 90's,indie, rock, minimal techno... I'd even consider a good Northern soul night.

What, for your money, is the best club night in London?
N.B. No JAGS please.

  • Hmm

Stay Beautiful used to be good pre-2004 but really isn't these days, and not just because of the PT.

How Does It Feel To Be Loved is excellent, but only if you have a high twee tolerance. It does also play motown/Northern Soul though, so that maybe ticks a box.

There are so so many weak clubs in London. I'd be happy to hear about other good ones...

    • seconds

How Does it Feel. In Brixton

      • the roaming

        things to make and do

        gets my vote everytime..

although white heat is a scorcher.

  • If you want a good northern soul night

The Saturday night one at Madame Jojos is truly excellent

  • Mme JoJos...

Any night when Keb Darge is playing for Northern Soul is always ridiculously fun; the sort of night where you want to sit down, but the music is just too good, and you stumble out exhausted at 2am still wanting to stay. For minimal nights the Ping Pong ones are bleeptastic, as is T Bar (on Shoreditch High St), but it's a bit Shoreditch. (small JAG - Saturdays at the Fly on New Oxford St. combines a bit of all three)...

    • Is that Unzipped?

I went once, soz but it was a bit lame

      • Yeah

It was a bit lame (well, bandwise) but they've changed the promoter recnelty and got some new DJs involved so it's improved quite a bit! It's worth another go - this Saturday?
