If it's all time, can I have the Colosseum in Rome? It ROCKS. Or some kind of ancient Greek ampitheatre maybe.

Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Gulla Villan, Hanninge, outside stockholm
played at a festival their this weekend
basically it's a BIG house that belongs to the guy who does a club called Blow Up a Panda with TONS of garden space and a big forest
one stage was the 'Skogen' (forest) stage - a marquee for about 500 people in the forest
the other stage was the 'Veranda' stage - literally the veranda of the house that looked out onto his garden with standing room for 900 people and a bar and a restaurant/grill/noodles thing
It was ace!!!
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
there*
tsk, tsk
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Like the one in Verona?
Slightly different from jumping about in a beer-slippery shithole like, say, Manchester Academy. Although admittedly the one at Manchester was probably the better gig.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
my house.

Hey clean_up_kid, have you only got half a right arm and no left arm at all?
Sorry if this is true!
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
isn't he in 5ive?
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Royal Albert Hall.
Why? Great acoustics, lovely atmosphere, seen some great gigs there.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Satan's Hollow in Manchester. The sound isn't very good, but the bands play in the middle of the room 'in the round' and the decor is all red/screaming faces/giant plastic satans jutting out of the walls.
Last gig I saw there was Sunn O))). With robes and smoke machine. Spooky.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
The Manchesthair Apollo.
Out of the four I've been to, its the best. Especially the ramp.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Glasgow Barrowlands. End of.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
The Royal Albert Hall is amazing. I went there for the first time last week. I would go again tomorrow night if I wasn't working. Booo!!!
Incidentally you can go and buy tickets on the door for only four pounds the whole time the Proms is running. I would totally recommend it. Watching a full 60 piece orchestra was quite something....and the conductor, she was cool.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Troubadour in LA
7th Avenue in Minneapolis
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
the venue in edinburgh.
or king tut's in glasgow.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Tut's is better than The Venue. A) Because nothing in Edinburgh could ever be better than anything in Glasgow. And B) Because it just is.

Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
As far as big ones - the Forum. The sound is great in there.
Smaller ones - The Union Chapel in Islington. Most beautiful place i've ever seen a gig.
I also like the ICA, and The Garage cus' its well dutty.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
For me its got to be the huge Amphitheatre in Verona. I visited Italy recently and was taken to see Duran Duran there and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The sheer spectacle of seeing a band in a 2000 year old 25,000 capacity stadium was totally unbelievable.
Closer to home, the Liverpool Carling Academy is quite good. Its big, but not too big as you can't see the bands. Its got a really good sound system. And the beer isn't bad. The only problem I found was the hideous 2 flights of steep stairs you need to climb to get to the venue.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Bull & Gate, and Cambridge Junction.
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
the junction? is that to play at or to watch?
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
Both! :-D
Re: FAVOURITE VENUE
A boat, on the Seine in Paris.
It was called 'la Péniche 6-8' if i remember correctly.
Saw Low and Quickspace in it.
Amazing place for a gig.
The Cluny and Cumberland arms in Newcastle, can't wait for the new academy there either.
There used to be a very good venue in Walsall, anyone from the West Midlands? i can't ever remember the name but it was just like the cavern in Liverpool, situated in a cellar, anyone know the place i'm talking about up the market hill opposite a pub called The Green Dragon(that's if it's still called that).
