I do find it amusing
to watch the surreptitious glances and manoeuvring for position (“if I stand here, then she might lean against me when the train brakes”) that takes place when a beautiful lady gets on a tube carriage. I do not partake in these rituals, as my attractiveness (or lack of it), would just inevitably lead to humiliation and the mental equivalent of soiling myself.
