The term "punk legend" is an oxymoron - whereas John Lydon is simply a moron. I had the misfortune of recording some of these morons when "punk" arrived on the scene in the late '70s, and they are still the same old bunch of talentless blowhards that they have always been. What they do is circus, not music, and the sensationalist-seeking sectors of the media have much to answer for in creating nonsensical concepts such as "punk legend". I read recently that JL told one of his victims to grow up and come back when they had achieved what he (the great JL) had! What's that John? First prize in "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here"? Punk was crap the first time round, and the sooner we consign the second time round to the dustbin - for good - the better! (Having got that off my chest, I suppose I shall now live in permanent fear of a visit from JL's thuggish entourage).
