Your city is GREAT. It has some really interesting vintage stores, the most aesthetically 'consistent' population of the opposite sex i've ever witnessed in one particular settlement and a really nice rocky beach. Everywhere is so clean. Concorde 2 is far too hot though, and the sound man needs to be shot.
I'm very jealous of Yesiamaduck, Zapsta et al. Here's to hoping i meet the necessary requirements to study down the road in Bournemouth so i can return without any hassle *clink*
We stayed at the Umi. It was nice, and we got the best suite in the hotel after we complained about being allocated a room without enough beds.
"down the road in Bournemouth"
You do know where those two cities are, right?
brighton
rocks
etc etc etc etc etc etc.
full of cunts from london like me though. suck it up.
Down the road in Bournemouth?
eh
Zapsta dont live here either :)

Did you go in the laines?
Haha. I'm fully aware of Brighton's distance from Bournemouth.
I was making a typically uneducated tourists' judgement of the south coast.
Yeah! The lanes were fantastic, i found a mod shop i approved of highly, and there are some really nice restaurants too. There's such a variety of material on offer.
I much preferred the pace of Brighton as a city to London - the seaside resort lacks the economic infrastructure of the capital in favour of a more rural design that's like a town that grew into a city. People seem more relaxed and i felt like i could safely wander around aimessly without needing to rush about and know exactly where i was headed.
I'm glad the tourist attractions are mostly limited to the pier, as i wasn't being continually smashed in the face by garish items and novelty postcards.
To clarify,
Brighton feels like it grew outwards instead of upwards, leaving the inner districts with character and an understated, matured class. But i suppose that's more to do with geographical location than construction choices alone.
It is a great place to live
Only problem though it is fairly expensive, and the city's slightly too small which means in the suburbs you don't really get the "urban cool" thing transmitted (although you do get a studenty vibe).
Full of cunts from London? Perhaps. But Brighton couldn't really live without those Londoners, in terms of population movements, work/commuting habits.... it does feel like an outlet for London, a satellite city at times.
couldn't live without
those Londoners? I'm Brighton born and bred, I could certainly survive without them. 'Tis a great place to live, busy yet relaxed. London can feel a bit intense all the time.
^ this
lived here all my life, we could live without them on the weekend but once u realise the left side of the pier is far better then the right side for the beach and that Penthouse and Alley Cats are so well hidden that tourists never enter ur sorted :)
Penthouse... meh!
Catch it on the right night and its amazing
the right night is...
the fourth friday of every month
Think about how much money Londoners put into the local economy
And day trippers/tourists in general.
What I'm attempting to say is that there's a bit of a symbiotic relationship going on between Brighton and London which is beneficial for both places.
Useless fact of the day for you...
The Concorde is getting air conditioning apparently
About fucking time
I have been sweating at that place since I was 14, they owe me a bath!
I think they have
a few dozen bathfuls of your sweat!
I know, Included evaporation over the course of 6 years
and came back with one bath full, they better fill my bath!
it's all about Hove
actually
ha ha
( a little brighton joke there for you)
Hove has like 2 or 3 good places to go at night?
the shopping there is poor but the beach is nice and lagoon isnt too bad
I'm Hove born and breed
and couldn't name 1 place to go at night!
Bitter about the lagoon, spent many years skating up the crappy turf, only for them to finally getting around to building a skatepark there once I had stopped.
Bees Mouth and Greenhouse Effect :D
Bees Mouth is Brighton, Shirley?
before the Peach Statue definitely.
*PEACE
although...
note to self: build statue of peach.
I'd say its more Hove

i don't let postal codes dictate my life
anymore.
looking on google maps i'd say it's nearly in line with the Peace Statue - you'd be buying drinks in Hove and drinking them in Brighton then.
Best of both worlds!
i should have started with this, but:
it's not a very nice place i reckon. if there's a band there's absolutely no room whatsoever. and they have beers made entirely of sugar cubes going by the taste of them.
Asahi and Oranjeboom are fantastic
the open mic nights are good fun :) and they play great music.. its awesome
M to the T to the F to the U
; )
granted the backrooms are very nice.
Why Man The FUck Up?
Obscure largers are like awesome and manly!
the sugar must have gone to your head
i find myself drinking guinness there and that's quite a feat for me.
Hove-wise (sounds like some kind of awareness programme) i like The Ancient Mariner.
no
i want to move to brighton
when i'm older and have kids.
I live in Brighton.
I R Ko0leSt Brighton DiSeRRR! I genuinely love it there, the music scene seems thriving. Somewhat less so now that Charlottefield have split =(
If your going to move to Brighton idealy it will be in your twenties
the is something to do for everyone but in your twentys your truely spoilt for choice, it's very much a young city with 24hr clubs and bars and toones of music venues and so forth.
i enjoy spending my twenties in london
but i want my kids to grow in a good place.
i've got it all planned out.
Ah fair fair
yea crime n tings here are quite low, n the easy access to the countryside, beach and town :) Yea n lots of parks... works out well for the nippers, a day out on the pier with donuts <3
