Just got back from what was one of the best weekends of my life, seriously, if you avoid the main stages T in the Park is amazing! Holy F**k in the Relentless Tent was the highlight for me, unbelievably good.
Can this thread please be stabbing and ned free? That seems to be all anyone wants to talk about, I had no hassle off of anyone all weekend!

Holy Fuck were brilliant
I had never heard them before, was very impressed though. Highlight of the weekend for me though has to be Twilight Sad, completely mesmerizing from start to finish. Frightened Rabbit were also incredibly good.
Justice followed be the National
KILLED. like, seriously amazing.
getting more or less a private Fucked Up show and Yeasayer were also great
Yeah, i was at Justice and National too
they were both phenomenal, wish they hadn't clashed though, would have loved to have stayed for Justice's full set.
I missed Twilight Sad
due to them clashing with Band of Horses (who were unbelievable) and Frightened Rabbit clashed with The National, seeing them both in a few weeks though, cannot wait!!
The one and only time I went to T in the Park (not this year)
I only watched 3 bands on the main stage.
The Pet Sounds Arena was fantastic, and not a neddy cunt in sight in most of the tents.
A lot of good stuff...
...going on in the T-Break tent this year. A band called Twin Atlantic were my pick, well worth checking out
yeah I only saw
a bit of Biffy before realising their not even good live any more and went to hold steady, Rage before nipping off to Interpol, Kings of Leon and R.E.M
fucked up!!!
awesome. seriously.
holy fuck were pretty good too.
the national and frightened rabbit was possibly the worst clash EVER. my initial plan to run over to frightened rabbit at 7.30 fell apart cause the national were just so damn GOOD!
The Hold Steady were excellent on saturday too - probably best performance I saw (other than fucked up!)
Glad you liked Fucked Up!
If I'd gone Fucked Up and The Hold Steady would have been my two 'must sees' as well.
it was amazing
there was about 30 people in the tent, they arrived late, tuned up and just launched into their set, dived into the 'crowd', ran around the empty tent doing somersaults.. then finished after about 20 minutes, and the singer stayed out in front of the barrier talking to folk.
Holy Fuck
were the single best thing of the weekend. I adored every second, and only knew 3 of the tracks? Was it new stuff?
Amazed none of you guys have mentioned RATM though! They blew me away.
Also thought Model 500, Carl Craig, Battles (what a drummer?!?!) & The National (better without the horn section though) were very good. Enjoyed Twilight Sad but the sound was a bit crappy. Have to say Justice pissed me off though. They spent so long previewing what the next track would be in the middle of the freak out bits that it all ended up being a bit stop-start.
Glad I saw REM to honour my youthful days. Let me in, Ignoreland and One I love were stunning.
i saw interpol
on saturday but managed to run down just in time for Killing In The Name Of.
Someone said they gave a ten minute lecture on smashing the system or raging against the machine or saving the planet or SOMETHING, is this true?!
Nah, they just did
a speech about prosecuting Bush for war crimes in the slow bit of that famous track of their's with the shouty end bit. Though that could any of about 10 of their tunes...
The National
clashing with frightend rabbit was aye maybe the worst clash ever, squeezed bits of both in though and both were amazing.
twilight sad and hop chip were also top notch.
gutted i missed holy fuck and the hold steady
I started with rage
got a bit stressed at them being 15 minutes late, watched the first three songs, realised I didn't know the words anymore and gave up when a horrible slow 'Bombtrack' started.
they looked a bit old and dated and forced and I can't help but feel they still hate each other.
Bsdies I saw what were presumably the only two 'Evil Empire' tracks played and got to see a really intimate 'Pol set, and if I hadn't of gone and missed 'Roland' I think I would have cried.
what was
the setlist anyway?
Battles
were fucking immense, I thought. Rage were tremendous. I was disappointed by Kings of Leon, who I'd been looking forward to quite a bit. All round awesome weekend, no hassle from anybody, good vibes, and I am now quite sunburned after Sunday.
the only shame about battles
was how damned quiet it was, the sound was a bit better at the end but eugh. Pet Sounds seemed pretty inconsistent for that, Interpol was quiet too but Band of Horses and National had awesome sound.
Battles were amazing.
It's a dead heat between Battles and Hot Chip (also in Pet Sounds :)) for band of the weekend.
Was anyone in the front pit for Rage?
I was, everyone sat down with their fists in the air for the speech he gave during Wake Up, one of the best moments of any gig i've ever been to, seriously amazing.
Holy Fuck
it seems like everyone who was actually there has posted on this thread! Yeah I was blown away by it too. Also, Yeasayer and Frightened Rabbit were brilliant.
According to the Skinny Blog
Rage Against the Machine’s set list:
‘Testify’
‘Bulls on Parade’
‘People of the Sun’
‘Bombtrack’
‘Vietnow’
‘Know Your Enemy’
‘Bullet in the Head’
‘Renegades of Funk’
‘Guerrilla Radio’
‘Calm Like a Bomb’
‘Sleep Now in the Fire’
‘Wake Up’
Encore
‘Freedom’ / ‘Township Rebellion’
‘Killing in the Name’
I thought it was amazing. Was in a very large (but good natured) pit freaking out like a hyperactive kid after a christmas hamper of haribo
As for HFuck
I was wearing (I think) a Mission of Burma T-shirt, next to my mate about 3 feet away from the stage centre-left. If you were one of the tall guys in suits, then I likely moshed with you briefly
I was the guy at the very front centre
with a white and blue wooly hat and red Los Campesinos t-shirt on, I also had an 8m long Relentless banner stuffed up my t-shirt!
Totally blown away.
mm
didn't miss much then, i'd like to see Bullet in the Head and thinking about it I heard 'Vietnow' as I was walking to Interpol
no 'Down Rodeo' or 'Snakecharmer' or 'Revolver' or 'Tire Me' so therefore I didn't miss much
not really that many songs either? mm. I may end up at Reading festival anyway so i'll see it then.
Alright Adam =]
Yeah I'd love to see Down Rodeo in the setlist, same with Take The Power Back.
What did Interpol play?
I went with Rage over them but if they did Say Hello To The Angels I will regret it a little bit.
Not much though.
no they didn't...
quite a lot from newest album.. pioneer to the falls, the lighthouse (amazing), rest my chemistry...
then obstacle one, PDA, slow hands, evil etc. + roland, which they finished on.
the actual setlist might be somewhere.
Apparently we all missed the best band of the weekend

Haha, Pendulum!!
Some people went to see them over Justice and The National!!
A lot of people were at the front for Echo & The Bunnymen
but were actually there to see Pendulum.
Bit sad to have missed Roland, but it's not the best song I could have missed I suppose.
I saw Interpol at Reading last year and they only did Obstacle 1 and PDA off TOTBL. Disappointing.
nonono
you are GUTTED you missed Roland. Roland DESTROYED.
I would have cried if I had missed that so i'm now taking pleasure in rubbing it in other people's faces.
Antics gave: Evil, NARC, Slow Hands, Not Even Jail and C'Mere,
it was a pretty "singles" based set, they only missed 'NYC' and 'Heinrich Manuever' (they played 'Mammoth')
this gives me high hopes for sunday's latitude headline set (if I actually get in) because on the basis of that set their playing a wide range and will have another half an hour to play with, so basically they don't play 'NYC' and 'Stella' then I may give up on them.
HANDS AWAY!!!
That was prob my highlight of the whole weekend. Its just immense live, i did love the extended roland outro.
Twilight sad and the national were also fantastic. And to my surprise feeder were awesome, a proper festival band.
that was a treat
aye
WHAT WERE THE PRODIGY LIKE & HOW'S THEIR NEW MATERIAL?!??!?!
nobody's answered me this in any thread relating to T or Oxygen
i think my seeing them on the bill was a mirage
i saw the last
15 minutes or so of the prodigy when they were doing smack my bitch up and firestarter and some other one, and they ran up and down swearing a lot. that was about all.
I saw them!
Don't think they played anything new. They were nowhere near loud enough, plus I had just came from Holy F**k so was still getting over the awesomeness of that, Prodigy were really nothing special.
