I'm not sure

maybe everyone just hates you.

am i you?

I think idea in itself kinda silly

if you are good enough you can probably get a gig anyway, if you want to practice playing live a bit then it doesn't really matter if it's a "good" open mic night really, and it's kinda an oxymoron as by nature you can't guarantee a good one. But the Easycome Acoustic club in Nunhead was usually pretty good.

yes

there is a great one the first monday of every month at cocomo on old street. its in the downstairs basement bit and there is no pa or mics so its like playing in yer front room of something. really intimate and generally a good standard of people playing.

Spice Of Life

In Leicester Square, right next to Spamalot, does it every Monday.
Yeah you get a few Brand New Heavies types but last time I went there were also some very good artists. They have a piano and a great PA system.

I've not been there for a couple of years

but it certainly used to be awful when it was run by Up All Night.

Massively over-subscribed, no fair system for sorting who played when and music so bland that within an hour you'd want to slit your wrists (ideally after slitting the throat of whoever was performing at the time)

I've got a feeling Up All Night have moed on though so maybe it's improved since then.

yeah

the one at cocomo has got to be up there, i haven't played a better one in londres... good people playing usually and they give you a free drink...

also i run it! does that make me biased?
