Does anyone know if there are any tickets on the door tonight. My friend wants to come and he hasn't got one yet.

Also does anyone know who's supporting them tonight?

Don't know, there might be some.

Try ringing the venue?

Support is a band called Dead Wolf Club.

Hello

Dead Wolf Club had to pull out. Not sure if they replaced us.
Our singer went n got all ill. :-(

bummer. :(

BUMP

Is anyone coming to this tonight for some ex-blood brothers/pretty girls pop-fun?

I WISH!

I WISH TOO

I've spent FAR too much and another 20 notes to head into London just seems a bad decision :(

think there arre tix on the door

yarp.
Support - no idea.

I've just been listening to the album

I really don't think I like it

yeah, apart from the first

three or four songs it's a bit of a let down. although I only have it a brief listen. I'm hoping it'll be a grower. It's not patch on the Neon Blonde album.

I share your hope

I don't even think the first few songs are that strong. The Man with the fake plastic suns is good but it sounds badly produced. I'm not enjoying so far....

I like all the tracks that are

on there myspace but nothing else has really grabbed me.

Yeah, hopefully they'll pull it off better live.

right

I've been listening to it since I got home and I'm liking it alot more second time round. I'm hearing alot more stuff I didn't hear before as I'm playing it nice and LOUD!

Tonight will be good, oh yes, it will be good.

oh yeah

Crystal Beaches Never Turned Me On has such a lush little piano bit in it.

^this

did they ever actually tour, like at all? The album was brilliant.

I don't think that they did

but I'm not 100% sure. I think they probably recorded the album between doing stuff with Blood Brothers so may not have had time to tour.

DEFINATLY worth a trip

it wont have sold out i dont think....15 of us at the bristol gig last night and it was amazing.

Brilliant gig last night.

There was hardly anyone there though which was a bit sad. I swear Johnny gets camper. The drumming was incredible, hats off to J. Clark. The songs I didn't know were ace, one even sounded vaguely hip-hop like! Terrific pop music.

Fuckshovel were lol though. Couldn't actually hear anything apart from drums and the singer ranting.

I saw them at Wireless

and they were hideous.
The singer was shrieking away like Marco from Big Brother years ago.
Probably the worst live act I've seen this year!!

I was suprised at how few people were there

They were good, but not great. I couldn't help thinking that I'd rather have been watching Blood Brothers or PGMG which I know is beside the point. Still an entertaining night out.

Did anyone else think that the bassist looked like a better dressed/taller version of Noel Fielding?

Yeah, it was a bit sparse.

I'd have rather they played for longer and slipped a few covers in, but you can't have everything. Highways of Gold was superb.

My friend said those exact words to me about the bassist. :D

I thought that too

but I guess they want to put that all in the past.

It was a bit distracting for a while.

It was good at the end when Cody came into the crowd, I was right beside him.

I was right beside him too.

I bought a bag from the shop. I don't think it was worth £10 though.

Surely at an under-attended show at the 100 Club

everyone was right beside him

ho-ho

at the end of their set he dragged the mic off the stage so people could sing along to the na-na-naa-na-na chorus of one of their songs.

Am I correct in assuming that if it had sold out the whole place would be rammed? That would be crazy, if you were short/at the back/short AND at the back you wouldn't see anything at all.

I enjoyed the picture of Angus from Liars on the wall, at first I thought it was Dave Grohl though.

my friend was unimpressed

with the 'merch' that they have. He was saying quite loudly how crap it was and Johnny who's company design it wasn't too far away from him. Oops.

hahaha

I thought it was ok, but too expensive. 15 quid for a t-shirt? Fuck off! What with the price of beer I was lucky to buy a cup of tea on the station before going home!

you should have done what we

did and gone to The Champion pub around the corner and then arrive 15 minutes before JL played. £2.10 pints FTW!

£2.10????

I'll remember that for next time.

you'd do well to

there are loads of 'sam smith' pubs near Oxford Street where the price is right and the beer is tasty. I'll try and find a link which will allow you to find all of them...

here it is

http://www.jamesgretton.co.uk/samuelsmiths

there is a better one but that's a good starting point. It's quite good to do a pub crawl around them and they're all nice to drink in.
