(Not) another 'moving to London' thread...(moving to London centric)

There's been about a million threads on this, but here's another one anyway...

Moving to London in September, and London being a big place and all, could do with a few tips on what different places are like to live and what people think the better places are...

I'm going to be studying in Elephant and Castle so somewhere with good transport links to there is fairly essential as I'll be there everyday (I think EandC is fairly well served by buses?).

I'm moving in with two other people who will be working full time, but are yet to get jobs, so it means I hold the most sway as I defo know where I'm going to be...

Suggestions/Advice? Ta.

  • new cross

    • highly recommend the big K

ie. KENNINGTON or Oval. Down the road from Elephant (5-10 minute walk), really centrally located, easy to get around, Kennington Park, very reasonably priced accommodation and most importantly of all - bloody good quality crack.

Aside from that, Hackney / London Fields / Bethnal Green is good - bit of a treck to Elephant though.

  • Clapham has been mooted by the other two so far...

    • clapham's rubbish

      full of pricks.

      • ^ This

Get them to move to Brixton by calling it Clapham Borders like the estate agents. Maybe even Herne Hill these days. You'll have more fun.

      • clapham is rubbish

don't live there. live in kennington or nx or brockley or something.

        live in shoreditch. ITS HIP.

    • really do NOT go to Clapham

i think im booked up to my eyes in 'london holiday maker' type things with the parents, but i'm gonna have to have some free time or i might die! I think we're staying somewhere near tower bridge..., it's so long since i was last in london though - so many of the tube stations sound the same to me.
