Bonjour Tristesse!

As misanthropic, cynical, depressing though deeply life changing making sense of the world as a teenager novels go, this vastly outstrips The Catcher In The Rye.

  • However much I enjoyed The Catcher In The Rye...

if I could delete one single work of fiction from history, it'd probably be that.

    • may i ask why?

      • Too many young boys

        thinking/wishing they're Holden Caulfield.

  • It's on my to read list

i'll finish lanark tonight, then it's either that or bertrand russell... or BOTH. I AM A MADMAN.

    • it's really short and summery (as well as sad and genius)

      so read it!

      • Somebody on here said i looked like fancoise sagan

        that is a funny thing

  • It is

a fantastic book. I love a lot of Francoise Sagan's stuff.

  • i read this last summer

i have a terrible memory but i think i liked it. i remember fields and parties being something to do with it.

    • basically teenage girl and her dad live really hedonistic life on french riveria

one day he decides to settle down and marry one of his mistresses, and the girl gets pissed off and tries to sabotage it

      • oh yeah

and she enlists the help of a boy who lives nearby? who they hate? or something? i wish i could remember stuff :(
