Pest is ugly/dirty but has more to offer a young sort like y'self. A couple of good record shops there.

there are loads of 2nd hand stores everywhere and buda is lovely. pest has some dodgy areas but cheap accommodation.
prices overall aren't that cheap (slovakia was much cheaper) but obvs better than here.
