Bit of a mixed bag today but ended on a high with Jay-Z.

+ U Don't Know!
+ Memphis Bleek!
+ Hercules vs Love Affair - INCREDIBLE!
+ Hot Chip - No Fit State!
+ Missing all of Mark Ronson!
+ Messing up Excuse Me Miss!
+ Encore (suddenly loving the Linkin Park version - Miami Vice be damned!)
+ The garden bar near the second stage
+ 2 for 1 tickets (thanks Sean Bean!)

- Saul Williams' Trent Reznor sludge
- Kano's awful new material
- Nothing off Reasonable Doubt
- Missing Cool Kids
- Torrential downpour
- Heart of the City ruined by Bono
- 3 quid for a setlist (fuck you Sean Bean!)

were there any touts selling cheap tickets? i want to go see Why? on saturday...

Sounds rubbish,

Glad im not going!

Me

Watch Nicole Atkins

She's great!!

yup

whip, cut copy, robyn, mstrkrft.

looks good

A tout or two

Don't know how many had physical tickets though - mine were on my phone (O2 hence the 2 for 1 deal - was a while back when they first announced it).

It was really empty

I was embarrased for H&LA as there were only a couple of hundred people there - they were still ace though. I reckon if you turned up late enough you could get a really cheap tout deal - it was nowhere near sold out. No queue for the bars or food! Be careful though - as they just scan, rather than rip, tickets. They can be sold by touts again and again without appearing to have been used, but you can't get in (happened to a mate last year)

Yeah it was

evidently not sold out, Annie played to no more than about 20 people. A shame as she was really good.

H&LA were a lot better than they were at Heaven but not as good as Soho Reveue Bar. I left early to get a spot for Jay-Z though.

Emily Eavis was in front of me in the guestlist queue and was having trouble getting in. I LOLd.

The funniest thing

was the fact that the only queues on site were for the guest list and the backstage bar.

I got some decent Annie pictures

I enjoyed her set a lot.
I was watching a band called Sparkadia on the tiny O2 stage.
I was enjoying their set so felt really sorry for them when it started pouring during their third song, leaving them playing to about 2 people for the rest of their set.

Aye

I might try and see Annie again next week, she's playing at Cargo at some point.

And at Proud tonight

I only saw Jay-Z, and fucking loved it. Really good showmanship and staging for a hip hop show and the live band made it.

Had always avoided Wireless before but the sound and set-up were really good and, as said above, no queues.

Only slight downer was with the once-a-year couples who tried to stop you getting back to your spot in the crowd every though there was loads of space and got all pissy when you brushed past them and their girl's carefully picked spot 200 metres back from the stage. I have now vowed to stop getting annoyed by this and start finding it funny instead.

wow

i thought the cave singers were the best thing about the night
on the bella union stage. wereee awesome
jay z what a climax though.
anyone down tonight as well?
x

If I'd known

what time the cave singers were on I would have seen them

the cave singers

were on at 7 30

Anyone good playing on Sunday?

Thinking about going.
