Latitude Loners - a DiS campsite

Goodness gosh, it's only a fortnight until the fun. And I'm heading there all on my Jack Jones - but I know I'm not alone in being alone. I remember seeing quite a few threads saying so.

So, I'm organising a pre-tent-pitching meet-up, as early as possible on the Thursday afternoon. At this point I need interested lone wolves to pipe up - how're you getting to the festival? I'm going to get the train into Ipswich, before catching the earliest possible coach to the festival site, at around 1pm. If that's the most common method (and I hope it is), then a rendezvous at Ipswich station would be marvellous.

That's Plan A. If it turns out that everyone's getting there by a million different ways, then hopefully someone who's been to the festival before can suggest a good meeting place for us.

Whew! This might be a bit tricky to pull off, but I'll cross my fingers. I already have one chap on board - even before I posted the topic! So who else is in? We'll camp, argue terribly about what music to put on, go and see bands, and then go to the full-scale DiS Meat-Up on the Friday night. Cool?

Cool.

Hey there

There's a thread on the official Latitude forums in the 'find your festival friend' section with a loners campsite discussion.

They've planned where they're going to camp and are apparently printing off flags to make it easy to find.

I'm joining them this year, there's about 15 of us already; why not just have us DiSers camped there too? The more the merrier I say and better than having half a dozen different Billy No Mates campsites set up around the festival.

Well would you jook at that.

Excellent work. Those guys on the festival forums are better organised, more numerous, and probably better looking than me and my pitiful little thread.

There's the link. They've got a map! And a flag!

Haha

Sorry I didn't mean to piss on your parade. Just thought it'd make sense for all the loners to camp together. Thus more chance of fun and friends. Hurrah!

No, it was a good shout.

So I'll see you there.

I did briefly consider standing firm, and organising my own motley band of strangers, but I don't want to turn Latitude into Lord of the Flies.

Not bitter, not bitter....

such

a good idea. I'll be there mid afternoon Friday, attempting to squeeze in somewhere...

Hello

I'm a gonna be a loner too, well got a lift sorted, but I've been discreetly told not to hang around with the couple I'm going with. Girl and boy in love and all that. So, I might join the DiS possee. Can we sing Mclusky songs round a campfire?

Sing it.
