Drowned in Sound

I walked past their recruiting centre on Tottenham Court Road TWICE this lunchtime. They had a guy outside desperately trying to get everyone in for a 'stress test' and both times he looked at me right in the eyes and then tried to lure the person behind me/looked right through me.

Am I not good enough to be a scientologist?

Famous Scientologists

only the girl does that to me.

and those charity stalkers with the clipboards..they move away prompto when they see me coming

Prompto is

better. PROMPTO!

It's all good^

Except the Scientologists

Is

that the guy with the white hair? I swear he's an ex-gangster.

I love the stress test question

I live in London.
Public transport.
Credit crunch.

That's my stress test right there!

William S Burroughs?

That might be a selling point.

Where in the hell did all these

negative orgons come from?

Proof that drugs

impare judgement.

If you've read 'Naked Lunch'

then yes.
Agreed!

burroughs was a scientoligist??

fuck off?

really?

I'm still reeling from the fact Jason Lee was one *before* he was famous...wtf???

he joined briefly

im guessing influenced by drugs. afterwards he had a very high profile disgust for the church and posted vitriolic tirades against them in newspaper letter pages.

cultists used to like me when I was young

WHereas now they part like the red sea, before me, allowing me to walk unimpeded

does that mean I'm old now?

Shit,, they rejected me when I turned 18 and came ot uni :(

They were all over me in the deangate branch in mancs when i was 17 though ...

I know someone they actually kicked out of the office...

scientologist rejects...what a thing to become

Was

Super Hans around?

they take anyone

Once I went to the centre and a man lectured me and my friend for about two hours.

He told us about Tom Cruise organising special saunas for the September 11 2001 firemen, in order to draw out the impurities from their skin and prevent them getting ill....hmmmm.

There was a really young kid upstairs, talking to one of the advisor types, begging to go up to the 'next level' and saying he was ready.

For the LOLs I'm guessing.

I've always wanted to meet a scientologist, it'd be well funny laughing at their gulliblitude.

hmmm

Tom Cruise and Courtney Love and Juliette Lewis......I really couldnt bring myself to imagine that

Oi!

where were you on Saturday?

I wasnt there :(

I work away from home during the week and sometimes it wouldnt be very fair on my family for me to bog off and enjoy myself, i would have liked to, and I might have done, but It wasnt a good idea this last Saturday.

I also got invited to a Tango Ball in Sheffield, which I also would have liked to have gone to, however I stayed with my family, cos I is a creep.

:( :) :( :)

Scientologists

have been wining and dining members of the Met Police. In return people protesting against them are threatened with being charged under anti terrorism laws if they're within five miles (or is it one mile ?) of parliament or something. Also police are handing out anti drugs literature panned together by scientologists to include anti-depressants

They've rented out

the City Hall in Cork for 3 days.
In response,I brought my extremely violent nephew to where they accost people for "tests".When one came up to us,my nephew kicked him in the bollocks.
We had a prior arrangement...
Anyway,I was just like,"Kids will be kids",and walked away.Made my week so it did

i've had that too

they don't invite me. they know i'm too fuckin' indie

some of the

ideas about lifestyle are actually pretty good, and i would be more swayed to believing in aliens than i would a talking snake.

Where does a talking snake come into it?

One too many disney films,eh?
;)

The Bible

.

Ooohhh,,

right.
Everything else makes perfect sense though

I love the song Famous Blue Raincoat which is about unfortunately about Scientology

but I guess Leonard Cohen can just about be excused

do you like any songs about god?

or religion? do you feel bad for liking those?

not that I can think of

nor do I feel bad about liking Famous Blue Raincoat.
It's just a shame someone I admire so much should be involved with such a load of bullshit

There's a diference though.

It's one thing enjoying chants, prayers and hymns,as they relax you in the same way meditaion or exercising relax you.
There is a massive diference between them and a song about a,what,10 year old "faith" which involves aliens, volcanoes and spirits possesing monkeys

mmm

volcanoes do exist, chances are "aliens" do aswell and according to the bible monkeys pretty much shouldnt exist anyway

I'm not denying the existence

of volcanoes, yeah "aliens" probably exist but how is what the bible says relevant?
Anyway, what I meant was that their belief that "we" were spirits who lived in volcanoes, before said volcanoes were nucked by aforementioned aliens, more specificaly by the "Xenu", is a load of bollocks by a sci-fi writer who said that the quickest way to make a $million was to start a religion.
Rant over

Yeah but its not less plausible than a lot of what 'accepted' religions preach

and im fairly sure religion is responsible for more evil in the world than some bloke making money out of celebs

Yeah,I agree with the

first part, but the second part is bollocks!
The same people who fight over religion would just fight over something else if they couldn't die for jesus/allah/whatever.I mean, look at the 20 century.
And the only reason I'm arguing is because it's not just celebs,it's regular gobshites aswell

would it be as widespread though?

difference in relgion i think is whatever way you look at it a source of conflict. yeah its often just used by people as an excuse, but to say it doesnt cause friction is a bit naive i think.

Hmmm...

Alright. It is a source of friction, but not as much with the general populace as it is with people who take it all a bit too far.
Anyway,I probably am naive in this respect, what with growing up in an overwhelmingly catholic/secular(depending on the occasion)enviroment

Scientology > Christianity

They're both bollocks, but Scientology is more mental.

I ain't a scientologist by the way, atheist FTW.
