Fuck that! How many tickets have they sold on Bjork's name alone? This is Bjork's one off UK festival date this year, and she hardly plays anyway, so for any Bjork fan this is all about her! I'm calling Rennaissance now, if they refuse to give me a refund, or even a partial refund, I'm taking it to Consumer Direct.
The lady I spoke to on the phone was really nice and helpful, but she wasn't able to go into detail regarding Bjork's cancellation for 'legal reasons'. Personally I'd like to know why- if this is Bjork being awkward then I wouldn't expect a refund, but if it's a fault of the organisers then they should at least offer some of the money back. They also said that you're buying a ticket for the whole event and not one artist, which I personally think is a bit of a cop out, particularly when you're talking about an artistic as prolific as Bjork.

Whilst our terms and conditions state that the ticket is purchased for the event, and not for any specific artiste, we will be accepting refund requests that must be received no later than 6pm on Friday 4th July 2008. These must be in writing along with a valid unused ticket (stub attached), sent to the place of purchase. For tickets purchased direct from Wild in the Country please address to:

This is a very sad conclusion to our passionate efforts to develop an interesting and credible addition to the UK festival market. Unfortunately, Wild in the Country has become the latest in a series of festivals that have suffered from a unique and well-documented set of market forces this summer.
I do feel sorry for the organisers... I think this year is going to be tough for a hell of a lot of Events.. I hope everyone gets refunded..I guess its just Field Day left for me now, seems like the only one left, fingers crossed anyway!

The festival certainly appears to lack a decent headliner. Last year was Underworld and Hot Chip, this year is Pendulum. Woop.

when there wasn't a headliner anyway near the status of Bjork, and I still had a great time
The fact that I saw her a couple of months ago cushions the blow a bit, but I won't be getting a refund
