There's something about old people at gigs who look like they're really enjoying themselves that I find quite endearing.
It's like their wives have let them out for the night, so they can play air guitar, and pretend to be young again, but in a non smoking arena.
There was a guy at Journey earlier with a mullet who kept on dancing in the isles who kept on having run ins with security. It was quite funny.

I remember I once
I met an old lady in the line for a muse concert in belfast, she was there with her grandaughter.
I asked her if she was a fan of the band, and she politely said "no,no,no, they're awful"
I doubt she had any run ins with security though.

actually i think most bands that play arenas now were playing them in their heyday.
by which i mean
bands like Oasis and Radiohead will play arenas in their old-age, pay the bills reunion tours.
I don't find it endearing
Old people shouldn't enjoy themselves at gigs. They should be music lovers who feel as though they're above it all, and have seen it all before, and have become disillusioned with the modern live experience and preferred it when it was just turning up at Old Jim's barn to watch the three-piece playing on their one-stringed instruments under a lightbulb (not all old people are rural though...clearly).
Where's the bitterness? That's what I respect.

at radiohead tonight there was a guy who was at least 50 who was obviously a big fan just standing in his own space singing along in a really nice way, being kind to people who disrespectfully barged past and stuff. Great.
