It was a couple of songs solo

but most with a full band. They looked quite studenty. Sounded alright though.

didnt rate the solo stuff much last night

but finished off with "when Tommorrow Hits by Mudhoney and i beleive a version of Suicide. Both of which where rather fabulous. Sonic looks to be defying the aging process rather well

yes

i saw him a few months ago and he looked a lot better than he did when i first saw him about 7 or 8 years ago!

i'm looking forward to saturdayyyy

aha

coolio. i think he's probably playing with fuxa in the spectrum line up as well. the latest spectrum meets jim dickinson album is a proper return to form, which is amusing, since jason pierce has just released his most tedious works yet......

yeah

i've always been more of a sonic follower post spacemen 3 though the early spiritualized stuff is great..

geek speak :(

aha

thats because the first spiritualized line up was actually a full blown band. not one man telling a bunch of numpties what to do.

and the best live of all the line ups.

Bang on Mr Black!

its true.

(black in name drop alert), you'll find messers refoy and mattock on my facebook.

the first line up with will (before he jumped) was utterly superb, even with sean they were still pretty fantastic. my second spiritualized gig, was the LGM line up, with levitation and aphex twin dj'ing. the ladies and gents line up was good, but nowhere near. and these days, its what i call the american, radio friendly spiritualized.

but, pierce is a businessman, and effectively they are his employees. its not really a live band in the slightest.

I know its true.

All of the current line-up play in, shall we say, rather less than impressive East Midlands bands

Geezer

Safari?

hahahaa!

hehe .

doggen plays in performance. they play covers as a wedding band for £750 a pop....

thats

where the moneys at these days! :D

well, you arent going to get

mr pierce paying those sort of sums, i bet. since no-one apart from him got paid a royalty from the first 3 albums. until sean cook took him to court.

yes very true

though i didn't get to see them live.. not before ladies and gentlemen.. :(

spectrum were great last night

roll on july 17 at sonic cathedral and truck festival will be amazing!

i kind of like seeing sonic in a bit of a return to form.

he's always kind of been sidelined as the man who sits in his terraced house, in rugby, and hasnt moved on. but the recent stuff with magnetophone and jim dickinson, is a real return to form. whilst i listened to the new spiritualized album, realised it really was a spiritualized by numbers package, and stuck it straight back in the cd rack.

the jim dickinson album

is absolutely incredible!

its ace

its kind of recurring hits the blues. i really like it.

and.....

i saw sonic play with stereolab, which remains in my top 3 gigs ever.

tortoise were the fucking support band......

Tortoise

supporting Stereolab? Bizarre.
TNT= special

I saw that gig lineup

At the good old Windsor Old Trout as far as I remember. It was a top show.

wierdly, i found it

via these people :

http://www.folkdevils.co.uk/

who were playing it on their stall, at a blues festival, full for 50 something blokes with beer bellies, in leicester.......

not the average place to expect sonic boom's dulcit tones, but there you go....
