NEW SLANG IS ON THE MOVE.

WE'RE NOT ON THIS WEEK, BUT WE'RE BACK ON JULY 3rd!

It's with excitement that we announce New Slang is changing venues. We've had A LOT OF FUN at The Works and the people that work there, but we're jumping ship cos we've found something better. We're moving a few minutes walk away to McCluskys which is at Bishops Walk, right by Kingston Bridge.

Here's a map to help you find your way!

It is the same people (Banquet Records) running the same night. Same music policy with the same selection of live bands (and we've got some amazing shows coming up). However we've got a better venue, with cheaper drinks (pints of Fosters at £1.90, pints of Strongbow for £1.90, Vodka mixer for £2.30, Tequila for £2, glass of wine for £1.90 and more!), a smaller feeling venue but one which actually has a capacity of pushing 1000 still, a more appropriate door staff team and a better PA for the night.

We're super excited by this, but it does mean that this week's New Slang is off as the New Slang staff are gonna be moving all our gear and trying new stuff out our new venue!

We've got no doubt that if you overcame your fear of initially going to The Works then you'll also be wise enough to check out McCluskys. Remember its still us running the night. Sean playing Les Savy Fav, Jon playing The Cribs, Joe Murton doing essential beer tasting, Punk Steve punking, Del hassling, Skye with her clip-board, Danny behind the sound desk, AD at the front door, Aaron checking your dance moves... Same night, same great times.

Our first night in our new venue is on Thursday July 3rd which is a double headliner with Example and Cut Copy. What a way to kick it off!

This will be the second time we've had Fulham based rapper Example at New Slang. The first time was at one of our bank holiday specials the other month! His jokes hip hop is really entertaining and he had the whole crowd going, so we're really looking forward to welcoming him back to New Slang!

Cut Copy come all the way from Australia and play here for the first time. Signed to the awesome and important Modular label, their synth driven disco-electro should have us all dancing. They've just released a great new album and we can't wait to have 'em here!

Look what we've got coming up at future New Slangs:

does it still smell like stale sick in there?

i used to go there rather a lot in my first year. that was about 8 years ago though, so I hope things have changed!

i was in there the other day...

and it smelt ok yeah. ha.

i think all big clubs have perfumed air conditioning since the smoking ban anyway.

Think it was called Ritzy's back in my day.

Going back for Les Savy Fav then...
