Whilst you lot were all stood in a field in east London mumbling about set lists. Those of us who knew were at what was quite simply the greatest gig in my 19 years of gigging.
Imagine MC5, Primal Scream, Jason Pierce, some jazz legend on sax more doing Moving On Up. Bobby looked like he was going to implode with joy.
John Sinclair even did a spoken word thing with everyone jazzing out.
Even Mani looked completly starstuck.
KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!
Anyone else go?
i was there
Wouldn't say it was the best gig ever - Primal scream were pretty dodgy early on but definitely a great night.
I wasn't there
but heartily applaud your enthusiasm for the gig, Reverend. I nearly went to the East London mumble fest but luckily sold my ticket a few days back because I couldn't really afford it. Unfortunately the ££'s I saved all got spent on booze etc at the MBV show on Sat. Ho hum.
Were you...
...all at the same indulgent jerk-off at a drughead's rest home that I was?
MBV on Monday
Was truly awesome.
A dream like run of two gigs.
squeekobenelli - The Scream played five tunes from the new lp, maybe that's why you found them dodgy? I thought Bobby G was on fire. Shoot Speed follwed by Swastika Eyes, Rocks, and Can't Go Back. Perfect.
just thought it was a poor start
accelerator's normally one of my favourites but just sounded flat last night, as did miss lucifer, and beautiful future is just dire. Some of the other new stuff sounded alright though, and i thoroughly enjoyed mc5
who was singing with the MC5?
Bloke at work who went said it was "some guy with an Afro". I'm guessing it's Handsome Dick Manitoba, as he's appeared with them before, but I'm curious to know.
William Duvall
He's done some stuff with Alice in Chains in recent years. He looked and sounded the part.
Explain yourself Luke Turner? I'm suprised that anyone attending that gig would be moaning that they looked old and druggy!
self...
...explained in the review just gone up on DiS.
I am absolutely loving 'Can't go back'.
Not quite a return to form in regards to XTRMNTR and Evil Heat, but a massive improvement on the last album -whatever it was called?
