Post apocalyptic Las Vegas with a Buddy Holly-alike crossing the desert to claim the throne left by the death of 'The King'... like a rock n roll episode of Buffy.
I always recommend this, but check out Pather Panchali (the first in the Pather trilogy) by Satyajit Ray. Its incredibly moving (harrowing in places), but its light on dialogue and the plot is quite loose, lots of "illuminating" scenes. It still holds together beautifully

The Big Lebowski
Rock'n'Roll Cop
Raging Bull
Taxi Driver
Serpico
Eat Drink Man Woman

Blue Collar
It's got Richard Pryor in it giving the (non comic) performance of his life.

No Country For Old Men
I'd go as far as to say it's the Coen Brothers best.
Really? I thought it was pretty average.
Fargo is so much better.
Fargo is proper
but the villain in NCFOM is immense. Such a stunning performance.
But Tommy Lee Jones is so boring.
He's a subtle performer
It's all going on beneath the skin.

That trailer is pretty sick.
I now really want to see this film. I've never really got into Troma but this does look funny.
Definitely do
like I said just down there it totally wasn't what I expected from Troma.
I
thought this was fucking brilliant and I'm someone who usually thinks Troma movies are cynical b-movies with no soul.
I can't even remember what made me watch it.
Never seen a Troma film before that one, but it was funny. Even the songs in it were enjoyable. And the sex! Did i mention the sex?
