Abes Odysee & Abes Exodus

the finest games from the 32bit era? I think so :D

  • yes

ridiculously hard though if i remember correctly. you had to save all of them to complete it properly.

    • You had to save more then a certain % I believe

Abes Odysee was very tough, Exodus was a little mroe forgiving and thats why its probably the better of the 2 games.

      • ^true

i was soooo happy with myself to have completed it to only get chucked down a hole by some elders due to my failure!!!

        cruelest/best game ever?

  • Lovely games.

But sort of freaky in a weird childhood way.

    • Yea when I first played I was terrified of Sligs

but by Abes Exodus they were my fav charecter, they were halarious :D

      • And how can we forget

        The farting!

        • Fart possesion was such a step up in the series

that they even included it on the back of box as one of its selling points!

  • In spite of the "Complete Abe's Odysee!" guides I bought as a nipper

I had completely forgotten about these games. I bloody loved them, but they did scare the crap out of me...

  • Whilst holding down R1

DOWN RIGHT LEFT RIGHT SQUARE CIRCLE SQUARE TRIANGLE CIRCLE SQUARE LEFT RIGHT.

I know that off by heart. Cool.

    • :D thats the invisinsbility cheat isnt it!

even with that it's bloody tough to beat

      • I can't remember

Whatever it was I used it all the time :D

  • I liked his little strange

noises he made he is ripe of sampleing.

    • I liked that in the 2nd game you could posses farts

then blow up your foes with them, the FARTING PROHIBITED signs made me chuckel, the cutscenes were genuinly funny as well.

      • haha

ace no idea why I never got it, I think I played the first one quite a bit borrowing it off a mate.

        • The 2nd game was stretched over 2 discs

it felt like you were playing a black comedy film. It was more or less the same but with more possesion, more charecters and blind mudukons that you have to guide with your voice otherwise they would just walk into a blender and be chunks of meat.

  • Oddworld Abe's Odyssey - Opening sequence

  • "follow me"

    • Oh my Gawd!

They were the best games ever.

I usually hate any game that takes more than 27 seconds to play but I remember playing both of those for fackin ages.

      • Did they ever make anymore Oddworld games?

        • Yeah Munchees Odysee which was good but a bit lacking

then Stanglers Odysee which was entertaining as hell! but different, they are working on another one which wont be out for ceveral years as it will have CGI quality graphics.

  • hello.

    follow me.

my friend looks like abe. this entertains me. as did the games. spent a lot of time on them!

  • Right

i'm digging my ol' grey playstation out tomorrow and i'm going to play this game for approximately 3 hours. Thanks for the blast from the past.

    • I sold mine to finance my PS2 dreams.

      ::Sigh::

Oh how i wish my original grey box was pumping out the inspired programming of G-Police, Nulcear Strike, Fifa 99 and the various PSX editions of the TOCA Touring Car franchise.

      • aren't they backwards compatible?

surely ps1 games are very cheap.

        • Yeah.

You must take into consideration the general ignorance of a 12-year-old to the variety of features and technological traits the console was advertised to offer, prior to selling all of his PSX games to ease budgetary concerns for the impending generation.

          • ignorant child!

  • Spontaneously spam the boards with

every retrospective PSX title you can recall! I want to spark more memories of my childhood to life.

I played Odysee, but never once experienced the critically-acclaimed delights of its successor. I remember obessively analysing the pages of OPSM magazine and observing that it appeared aesthetically superior the the original.

Those were the days when screenshots were screenshots and not grotesque, superficially enhanced portraits by numerous image editing programs.
