Drowned in Sound

I can't work out if this album is amazing or ridiculous. But I think I'm swinging towards the former at the moment

Either way, I'm now looking forward to seeing them at Field Day, fo' sho

i'm a bit upset about dirty projectors dropping out

but i think they are a worthy replacement
i need to get that record first

it's

ridiculously amazing. arf.

see what I did there?

No...

Can you tell me EXACTLY what you did there please?

well...

the initial thread said...

"I can't work out if this album is amazing or ridiculous"

It was offered as a choice...one or the other.

what I did was to buck those rules. I could've complied, but I didn't. I took both the choices and combined them to make a whole new option.

it's really rather simple.

Rotund heftiness...

Simple though it may be it still begs the question - is it amazing or ridiculous.
What you did in turn was take away the conviction of one or t'other and gave middleground, or middle earth shall we say.
So...
following on you are therefore relating the comparision via Tolkiens rules so instead of bucking them you have infact applied another set of rules.
A rule is also a means of measuring so, again continuing, you have measured a hobbit's personal bits for the basis of your opinion.
yes

so in conclusion my response is ridiculous...

BALLS

I question everything you say including your name you ravishing brute.

Yesterday's news

You, my pantalooned friend, are an ass of crustaceous origin.
Your luck has run out, your pants are wet and your breath has the consistency of a day old ratatouille that's been left on the poopdeck of a ship doing laps of a pedantic pond.

poopdeck...huh, huh, huh...

Yeah...

I've gotta admit I'm really confused by this album. Sometimes you feel a bit like you're listening to a operatic musical adaptation of a Robert Louis Stevenson novel.

I enjoy being confused though.

it's great

I wasn't sure on the first listen but it's a definite grower, especially old dog...

Also, what's with the brave bulging BUOYANT clairvoyants?
My guess is some kind of copyright problem with it having been released before...

how do you mean?

It's the same title is it not? Spelt the same? Same song? Slightly different recording...

Hmmm. What say you larkin?

it's not bad

but a bit odd - me likes it

I love it

But have been raving about them for too long now.
They were a bit drowned out at Union Chapel on Saturday though.

It's a smashing album

the kind of album that shouldn't work, should be horrendous, but is done with so much conviction and charm that you can't help but love it....well, except for the many who probably disagree and will liken listening to it to mainlining marmite into their eyeballs. Has anyone else found to album becomes dirtier and dirtier the more you hear it? "Swear by my own cock and balls!"

ps Sandell, dance like a podge bear

I think that's probably a great point, actually

About the conviction in their delivery. It's hard not to be impressed and get taken away with it, no matter how 'out there' his vocals sound

I love it.

It's great.

not heard the album

but saw them live and I thought it were a bit wank to be honest. I'm happy to revise my opinions so I'll check out the album. Lord of the rings twattiness, no thanks

yeah, i've heard a lot of complaints of them as a live band

for some reason. So dont be put off. Maybe they are just a bit whack live.

God, I love this band...

Way too much, I think this record might be my favorite of the year. "The Devil's Crayon" is fucking brilliant, so fucking brilliant. "Please, Sir" and "Vigil For A Fuddy Duddy" are quite nice as well.
