The review of the album in OMM was so pretentious.
Basically handing Sigur Ros responsibility for every aspect of Icelandic life, language and song...very over the top. But the album is gorgeous, I think it's my favourite of theirs.
OMM is rubbish

It was an outrageous review...I must have sat through about 300 words of absolute bilge before there was even any mention of the band whose album he was reviewing.
Typically majestic album, though...

Ára bátur is simply one of the most chilling songs I have ever heard. I know it’s easy, due to the apocalyptic ending, but everything that builds up to the ending is quite incredible as well.
