Britain's second greatest cultural icon records new album
Posted: 02 Jun '08, 13:44
According to Morrissey fantasist's bible True To You the new studio album from the man voted Britain's second greatest cultural icon is now complete and entitled Years of Refusal. The LP is slated for a mid-September release through Polydor UK (Universal).
Years of Refusal is set to feature 12 tracks (which will undoubtedly be hacked from this list) and is produced by Jerry Finn.
Prior to this, Sony-BMG will issue a remastered version of 1995’s Southpaw Grammar in July. The release will also include three previously unreleased tracks, and new artwork.
New video 'All You Need Is Me':

Is that Charlie Brooker playing the guitar?

-
Yes,
stupid fat prick. Not funny. He's literally just hanging around famous people, like a shameless dogturd, stuck to the sole of a shoe.
-
It's not actually him though,
is it?
-
No, it's Boz Boorer.

I thought Ricky Gervais
was recording an album from that headline.
-
to me
this video is visual evidence of morrissey leaving the closet.
look at his backing band!
and "there's a naked man standing and laughing in your dreams".this song is good
-
spot
the stereotyping.
-
Personally
I think he's been pretty obviously coming out for a while now. Check out some of the lyrics on Ringleader. Does he have to spell it out?
Ace song this.

LMAO
David Attenbrough? Cultural icon? What's cultural about being in documentaries? And Morrissey shouldn't be on that list. a) because he's a national socialist and b) because his solo career and a large selection of the Smiths' stuff is below average.
-
The Smiths below average?
even their B sides are excellent!
morrissey's solo stuff has definately had its peaks and troughs though
-
surely the smiths
are a bit cack?
-
No.
-
um...
sometimes...
-
nah

-
-
Well..
Practically every spoof nature film ever done includes the "David Attenbourgh" voice over, I would say he's permeated popular culture in almost the entire english speaking world in that respect.
Still maybe not number one though.

wtf?

See, this is the thing I love about Morrissey
That song is pretty much directionless, I wouldn't find myself remembering it after one listen or humming it all day, and yet I just feel completely comfortable and happy listening to it, and I still think it's a thousand times better than the hook-driven indie-pop shit floating around at the moment. He's just class.
-
but it isnt
-
Wait wait
Jerry Finn? Will he be doing dick jokes?
-
I'm throwing my arms around Paris
Has got to be a single.
Here's hoping the rest is up to snuff.

as much as i love Morrissey
i've found myself really not caring what he does over the last couple of years. I think this track's okay, good actually, certainly better than most of the stuff off the last record, but he could do so much better. I find it pretty hard to watch.
"I was a small fat child in a welfare house"

I saw some of these
songs previewed in Strasbourg, and they sound bloody good. I am very excited about this album!
-
Also
the song all you need is me (which is on the greatest hits) has one of the finest outros (if that is what you call it) of a song I have heard in ages. Perfect Morrissey, and true to the core!
-
^This.
The last 30-secs or so really do make that song.
