WC2R 2NS
LIVE MUSIC FROM: Future Of The Left, Chris T-T, Cats In Paris, The Young Playthings, Copy Haho, Jam on Bread, Tropics, Alan MX, The Dierdres + a lot more!
This Ain't No Picnic is a new urban festival, brought to you by the folks who also run Smalltown America. We ran a series of alldayers from 2004 to 2006, and despite the change of name and change of venue our aim is still a simple one - we want to put on a fantastic weekend of live music, with bands you know and love and bands we think (and hope!) you'll come to know and love. Essentially, music that we believe in.
This year's event takes places on September 27th and 28th at King's College London, and will feature around 30 bands spread across two stages. There will also be a seperate bar (boasting spectacular views over the River Thames) with a film programme of some of our favourite punk rock and DIY music films. Your ticket also permits you to stay for the venue's regular clubnight after the live music finishes on Saturday, which goes on until 4am!
All proceeds from this event will be donated to charity. Our last alldayer raised £2000, which was split between Cancer Research UK and The Connection At St Martins.
Smalltown America is an independent record label that was established in 2001 to release the first Jetplane Landing album. We've grown somewhat since then, releasing records for a number of different artists as well as nine (and counting!) volumes of our critically-acclaimed Public Service Broadcast compilation series. We currently have staff based in both London and Derry. Please visit our website to find out more about what we do. Our motto always has and always will be that good music deserves to be heard, and that's all that really matters.

I don't want to be a prize!
^make me chuckle
in my silent office.
Simple things...
Well at least there is one person on here
who doesn't seem to hate me then!
Vaguely related, but
whatever happened to Jetplane Landing?
their third album came out last year
but they didn't tour it due to various issues, not least because they're spread out all over the place. album #4 is coming at some point though.
Good-o
ALBUM #4???
OMG. <3
Is this likely to sell out?
(obviously you have to answer 'yes', but if the answer really is 'yes' then PM me or something)
I was going to say
it would be cool if Jetplane Landing played this. As it is, the line-up is looking wicked. I'm intrigued as to how this is going to run with the second stage and stuff.
second stage
will be in the upstairs bar. THE SWEATBOX ROOM RETURNS :D
i am trying with jetplane, believe me. it depends on schedules and stuff, remember cahir is a Proper Rockstar now.
Got two tickets
Can not wait. FOTL!
put Let Our Enemies on this bill!
Aren't you releasing their EP?
Just below FOTL or something.
we are, yes!
although i think it's being expanded into a 9/10 track.. album, i guess? with some stuff from their first EP, after it emerged that the original pressing of that was only about 100 copies.
yeah, which is obscene
they did it themselves though
if I win the lottery the first thing I do is make that band huge
THEM ON THE FOTL DAY!
copy haho
are my favourtite band everrrrrrr

STA has actually released records by bands called both
Q Without U and Hooray For Humans?
Q Without U were on one of our compilations
but we've never released anything by them.
Hooray For Humans are an irish electropop / indietronic type band, last seen touring these shores with Super Tennis.
LIKE THIS:
http://drownedinsound.com/event/view/35575
album is out pretty much to coincide with the festivlol.
googling tells me they're possibly named after a q and not u song. that's nice! i don't really like q and not u.
BUFF.
P-Wo!
I want to be there...
if you come to London
i will put you on the guestlist.
will probably be in London at the end of October
but end of September is highly unlikely...
it is with that attitude!
September is usually a month
where you have to buy many things for the kids...
And your taxes too...
Bad month...
daniel.
Gossamer should play!
you can see how ripped we are live tomorrow.
in all honestly this looks awesome. well done!
oh man
i was born to go to this.
i might be at kings college.
and im from surrey.
and i like a few of the bands too!
Um...
FotL bulletin:
"Last but not least our friends in America, we will finally be touring your big.. BIG fucking country supporting our friends Against Me! starting at the end of September for approximately 4 weeks, dates are still being confirmed as we speak but we will keep you updated!"
FALKOUS, IF THIS BECOMES THE UMPTEENTH NEAR MISS OF MY SEEING YOU IN THIS BAND OR YOUR PREVIOUS ONE, I AM GOING TO PERSONALLY MURDER YOU.
wow
the dierdres really ARE the most obscenely/amazingly twee band ever, i'm not sure which side of the stab/hug divide they're on though. i think hug. oh, and yay, i want to go quite a lot.
i will hopefully
be announcing the other headliners LATER TODAY.
C'mon Daniel.....
Don't keep all of us waiting!!!!
I'm really looking forward to this gig.
i am very very pleased to announce that
POLYSICS will be headlining the Sunday night!
if you don't know them, they're a new wave / punk rock / whatever mashup band from Tokyo. and they're fucking BRILLIANT.
OMG!
amazing scenes!
it's the last night of their European tour
last time they were here they sold out the Islington Academy and Kings is smaller! it's gonna be brilliant. i'm also not sure if they're playing any other UK dates.
MMMMMM
YEEEEEEES
I may have to look into this
Line-up is ace.
And, even better, a 4th Jetplane album is on the way!

are you going to tell us who is playing which days?
i might need to move that weekend, so i'm not sure I can go to both :(
yes
i am working on that at the moment. i will post something hopefully by the end of next week!
