So since their album came out, i haven't really 'got' what everyone was on about. I enjoyed it, but i just couldnt get past the 'Klaxons Part Duex' thing.
I went and saw them play a few songs live last friday night and was totally blown away. Their album does not do justice to how good this band are live. They are possibly one of the tighest live bands i've seen in a while.
For anyone that is/was unsure about this band/album, then i suggest seeing them live, as it has changed my opinion on them ten fold.
Foals are great
but I really don't like how the album is recorded. They've gone for a really atmospheric sound but it ended up making it sound almost empty.
And yes, they are fantastic live.

Was well dissapointed with the album after seeing them live. The vocals are too high in the mix making everything else sound really muted. Could have been a great album.

That's ironic, since it was seeing them live that made me realise that all their songs are the same.
More of a shame that it was subsequently buying their album that made me realise that the song all their other tunes are based on is boring crap.

I saw them live a while back
and they were terrible it put me off them for ages and ages, maybe they have got better or it was just a bad show, I doubt I would give them another chance mind,not until they come up with more tunes. Until I got the album then I liked it a bit but wasn't blown away at all. They are just avrage really. I can listen to the album some times but rarley all the way thruogh and only when I am doing something else like gettin ready to go out.
Who cares how tight they are

I agree that their
music isn't the best. But, as a live act they are great. I must be lucky, as they're coming to the end of their tour, so maybe they've improved as they play more gigs.
Their haircuts are very annoying though.

at least they're trying something slightly different from the normal indie dirge that gets served up.
That said, the album needs more variety to be hailed as anything more that 7/10, more tracks like 'Reg Sock Pugie' for example.
I've gone off most of the tracks on the album.
I still love 'Hummer' though.

But I'm still not entirely bored of it. I've somehow managed to see them four or five times now, and we cross paths another three or four times over the summer. Perhaps I'll be bored of it by then?
